Electricity Is Expensive

So expensive, in fact, that we really should find ways to conserve our electricity. Not only will it save money, but it is also much better for the environment. So I found a few tips (just from skimming online, that’s how easy it is) that will help you save on next months electricity bill! And with the current economy, plus sky rocketing water bills from the lack of rain in most areas this summer, you’ll need all the help you can get!

Dishwasher Woahs

The Dishwasher is a major contributor to the electricity factor! So instead of having your dishwasher go through the whole process it, stop it before it gets to the drying phase of its cycle! You will save a lot of money buy letting those dishes air dry rather than having the dishwasher do it for you. Additionally, if you’re finding it takes a long time for you to have a fully loaded dishwasher, it may be more benneficial for you to wash and dry the dishes yourself!

Separate Your Washed Clothes

I am almost positive that nobody does this. I know I don’t do it, but I really need to start! The idea is to separate your clumpy, washed laundry before it goes in the dryer. This way, the dryer has an easier time drying the clothes. When they are all clumped together, the dryer has to work harder to get in between all of the clothes. If the dryer doesn’t have to work harder, you’ll save loads on electricity!

Unplug Your Phone Charger

This wasn’t even a problem twenty years ago, but in the age of technology we are wasting more electricity than ever!  When we are leaving our phone chargers plugged in, they are still consuming electricity, regardless of whether they are actually charging something or not. By unplugging your phone charger, not only are you saving electricity, but on energy as well. And the more energy efficient you are, the more money you will save in the long run!

So start saving electricity today by following a few of these simple steps. To see tons of other ways to save on electricity, go here.
